About Dr. Ridges:
Ryan Ridges, M.D. is a board-certified ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal disease specialist. He studied electrical engineering on a President's Scholarship at the University of Utah and was elected to the Tau Beta Pi honor society. He followed his fascination with vision and optical technology into ophthalmology after graduating with distinction from the University of Utah School of Medicine. He completed an ophthalmology residency at the University of Virginia, serving as chief resident and conducting award-winning research that developed new technology to help diagnose eye movement disorders. Later, while at the Boston Foundation for Sight, he served on the active staff at Harvard's Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, taught students, residents, and fellows, engineered new optical technology, and treated complex corneal disease in patients referred from all over the world. His interest in retina then led him to complete a fellowship at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, where he held a faculty appointment as Instructor in Ophthalmology and was privileged to study with world-renowned innovators and experts in retinal disease.
He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society, and has presented research internationally, published on multiple subjects in peer-reviewed journals, and served as a reviewer for medical journals.
Dr. Ridges enjoys hiking, mountain biking, writing and playing music for piano and pipe organ, software design and programming, and spending time with his family.
Dr. Ridges will be accepting new patients in the Moore/Norman, Midwest City, and Lawton areas starting October 1, 2015.
